Downtown Outreach Services (DOS)

Downtown Outreach Services is a drop-in centre that provides advocacy and housing support services to individuals who are currently homeless, or who are at risk of becoming homeless due to any of the following reasons:

At Downtown Outreach Services, we:

  • Assist with finding housing in the private market through our network of landlords and online resources;
  • Help with completing CASH applications for Supported Housing and The Greater Victoria Streets to Homes Program;
  • Assist with completing BC Housing applications for subsidized housing;
  • Offer advocacy and support with accessing benefits, and scheduling or attending medical, legal and other appointments;
  • Assist with accessing resources when moving and re-locating homes; and
  • Give referrals and information to community agencies and services that will best meet your individual needs.

Community Support

Community Support Workers (CSWs) work intensively with a specific caseload of housed clients to manage mental illnesses and/or addictions issues and other barriers to maintaining stable housing.

These clients are individuals housed in the private market through Pacifica Housing or tenants who are living in Supported Housing complexes managed by Pacifica Housing.
