Pacifica Housing’s Downtown Outreach Housing Resource Services (DOHRS) is a drop-in centre, located in Victoria, which offers advocacy and support navigating complex housing and government assistance applications, connecting with community resources, and finding suitable vacancies for individuals and families that are currently homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
Pacifica Housing Outreach Workers work intensively with a specific caseload of independent living clients in Greater Victoria to achieve long-term housing stability and independence. Many program participants have a history of chronic homelessness and are supported in overcoming a variety of barriers to maintaining stable housing.
Some members of Pacifica Housing’s outreach team work with other community service providers to provide Encampment Outreach, Indigenous Outreach and Landlord Liaison services; while the wider team delivers the incredibly successful Streets to Homes program, which provides supportive services to individuals with a history of chronic homelessness living in the private rental market.
